Creating and managing member groups

Group your members into categories or cohorts

With Hello Club you can bundle your members into custom groups. This allows for quick actions such as emailing a group of members, adding them to an event, or creating a transaction for them in bulk.

Creating member groups

To create your first member groups:

  1. Go to the Settings module and open the Members card

  2. Click on the Groups tab

  3. Press the green Add group button in the bottom left

  4. Enter the name of the new group and press Save

Your newly created group will show up in the list of groups, and here you are able to click on the coloured circle next to the group to change the group colour:

You can create as many groups as you need, there is no limit to the number of groups.

Editing and removing member groups

To change or remove member groups:

  1. Go to the Settings module and open the Members card

  2. Click on the Groups tab

  3. Click on the context menu next to the relevant group

  4. Press Edit or Remove to change or remove the member group

You can also change the colour of a group by clicking on the coloured circle next to the group name.

Adding multiple members to a group

To add one or more specific members to a group:

  1. Go to Members in the People module

  2. Use the checkboxes next to the member avatar to select one or more members

  3. Click on the Group button that appears at the top of the page

Next, in the modal that shows up, tick the checkboxes of the groups you want to add these members to and press Confirm:

Adding filtered members to a group

You can also filter for specific members and then add them to a group all at once:

  1. Go to Members in the People module

  2. Use the filter or search function to find the relevant members

  3. Hover over the green plus button, and then click on the grey Add members to groups button:

This will add all currently filtered members to a group or groups of your choice.

Removing multiple members from a group

To remove one or more members from a group:

  1. Go to Members in the People module

  2. Use the checkboxes next to the member avatar to select one or more members

  3. Click on the Ungroup button that appears at the top of the page

Next, in the modal that shows up, tick the checkboxes of the groups you want to remove these members from and press Confirm.

Quickly editing your groups

You may have noticed a little cog icon next to the groups label when assigning a member or members to groups.

You can click this icon any time to quickly create, edit or remove groups without having to go to the settings page:

Managing groups for a specific member

You can also manage the group assignment of a specific member as follows:

  1. Go to Members in the People module

  2. Find the relevant member and click on their name to edit them

  3. Open the Member details card and click on the Club tab

  4. Tick or untick the relevant checkboxes under Groups at the bottom of the card

  5. Press Save to confirm

This will update the group assignment for this specific member.
