Multi-day events are great for tournaments, competitions or classes that span multiple days. Setting up multi-day events is quick and easy in Hello Club. You can choose different dates for the event to run on, consecutive or not, and with different start and end times for each day.
This guide covers the specifics on how to create and manage multi-day events, and it assumes that you are already familiar with the basics of setting up classes or events.
Creating a multi-day event
To create a multi-day event:
Head to the Events module
Click on the green button in the bottom right to add a new event
Fill out the basic details and then press the Next button
On the Date & time card, select Multi-day as the event type.
Note: The type of event can only be chosen when creating an event, it cannot be edited once the event is created.
Once selected, you can specify the dates and start and end times for each part of the multi-day event. To add another day, select the Add day button on the bottom left:
Once you've set up the days and times, continue setting up the rest of the event as you would with any other type.
Attendance for multi-day events
When creating a recurring event that’s open for members to sign up to, you will encounter a setting called Multi-day handling on the attendance settings card. You can use this setting to determine if members sign up for the whole event series, or if they can sign up for each event in the series separately:
This setting will also determine if the fees are charged for the entire event series, or per individual event in the series.
Changing multi-day events
To change a multi-day event:
Go to the Events module
Click on the event you want to change or select Edit in the context menu
Make the relevant changes
When prompted, choose what part of the multi-day event you want to change.
You will get the choice to change a single event, the selected event and all following events in the series, or to all events in the multi-day event series:
There are a few settings for multi-day events that will always affect the entire series. For example, if you change the fees or attendance questions, these will change for all instances of the multi day series.
Removing multi-day events
To remove a multi-day event:
Go to the Events module
Find the event you want to remove and select Remove in the context menu
When prompted, choose what part of the recurring event you want to remove.
You will get the choice to remove a single event, the selected event and all following events in the series, or to all events in the multi-day event series:
Frequently asked questions
Can I make multi-day events recurring?
No, not at this stage. To get around this limitation, you would need to set up a recurring event series for each day of the multi-day event separately.
Use the Copy option in the context menu of the first event you created to copy its details and make it easier to set up.
