Hello Club allows you to charge your members for their membership subscriptions when they register with your club or organisation and when they renew their subscriptions. Read on to find out how to manage fees for individual and bundled memberships.

Managing fees for individual memberships

To charge a specific fee for an individual membership, simply specify the fee amount in the membership fee field when setting up the membership type:

With this setup, any member signing up for or renewing this membership will be charged $500.

If you don't want to charge a fee for the membership at all, simply leave the fee portion blank when setting up the membership type. Your members will not be charged for this membership.

Managing fees for bundled memberships

For bundled memberships, there are four different ways to set up your fees:

  • Single fee for the entire bundle

  • Base fee for the primary membership + extra fees for each linked membership

  • No fee for the primary membership, but fees for each linked memberships

  • No fee at all

Which approach to take will depend on how your memberships are structured, but we provide an example of each method below.

Single fee for the entire bundle

If you want to charge a single fee for a bundled membership, irrespective of how many members are in the membership, you can set up this fee for the primary membership type, and leave the fee blank for all the linked membership types.

For example, to create a bundled membership which costs $500, set up the membership fee of the primary membership as follows:

Leave the fee for each linked membership type blank:

With this setup, a family consisting of one primary member and two linked members will pay the same amount as a family consisting of one primary member and five linked members ($500).

Base fee for the primary membership + extra fees for each linked membership

If you want to charge a base fee for the bundled membership, with an additional fee for each additional linked member that joins the bundle, you can do this by setting up the base fee for the primary membership type, and appropriate additional fees for each linked membership type.

For example, to create a bundled membership which has a $400 base fee along with a $50 fee per additional member, set up the membership fee of the primary membership as follows:

Set up the additional fee for the linked membership types as follows:

A family consisting of one primary member and two linked individuals will end up paying $500 for this membership ($400 + $50 + $50).

No fee for the primary membership, but fees for each linked memberships

In some circumstances you may not want to charge a base fee for the primary membership, but only charge for each additional linked membership.

For example, to create a bundled membership where only the linked members are charged $50 per person, leave the membership fee of the primary membership blank:

Set up the additional fee for the linked membership types instead:

A family consisting of one primary member and three linked individuals will end up paying $150 for this membership ($0 + $50 + $50 + $50).

No fee at all

If you don't want to charge a fee at all, simply leave the fee portion blank for both the primary and linked membership types when setting them up. Your members will not be charged for this bundled membership.
