Enable validation for permanent pins at the kiosk

If your facility uses Hello Club access and light control hardware with a kiosk touchscreen, you can now enable an additional layer of security by requiring users to enter their year of birth after entering their permanent pin.

How it works

When a user with a permanent PIN visits your facility, they can use the kiosk to:

  • Log in to their account

  • Make a new booking

  • Start an existing booking

With year of birth validation enabled, after entering their pin, the user will be prompted to enter their year of birth. If the year matches the one stored in their profile, they will be logged in successfully.

How to enable this setting

To turn on year of birth validation:

  1. Go to your System module

  2. Open System Settings

  3. Enable the checkbox at the bottom of the page: “Require year of birth validation for kiosk PIN login”

Frequently asked questions

What happens if they enter the year of birth incorrectly?

If entered incorrectly, they will receive an 'invalid' error and will not be logged in.

What happens if the user does not have their date of birth on their profile?

If no year of birth is saved in the user's profile, the system will skip the validation and allow them to log in with just their pin. We urge clubs to ensure date of birth is a required field.
